Insurance

 How Do You Know Where To Go on the Canal?

A Lancaster Canal Guide will be sent out to you on payment of the full amount due 6 weeks before your hire, this shows where you are for navigation and where you can moor up etc. It also gives details of the area and where you can find shops, bars and places of interest.

What you need to bring

Storage space aboard a narrow boat is limited.  We recommend you bring a sensible selection of informal clothing. Non-slip shoes or deck shoes are essential for your safety when decks become wet and slippery.  As you well know, the English weather is not the most predictable, therefore we recommend that you bring warm clothes, cool clothes and waterproofs to ensure a comfortable cruise.

Diesel and Gas

All included in the price of your holiday.

Bedding, towels and cooking utensils

Freshly laundered bedding and towels are provided on your arrival and each boat is fully equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.

Pets

Your pets are welcome to come on holiday with you. Just let us know at time of booking. We charge £20 per hire for extra cleaning involved. Please help us to look after our boat by keeping your pets off the bedding and upholstery.

Car Parking

We have a parking area at our base. Included in your boat hire is one parking space for an average sized family car for the duration of your hire period.  We do not charge but owners leave their vehicles at their own risk.  You will have the ability to use your vehicle at any time, when you return to the mooring. (keys provided to unlock the gate) We have cctv on our mooring.

Buoyancy Aids

We will be happy to provide Buoyancy Aids at your request.

The Security Bond

We request a security bond of £250, this is payable 6 weeks prior to your boat hire start date.  This is returned within 7 days of the end date of your boat hire providing that there is no excessive damages or breakages have occurred, the boat is returned in the condition it was collected and the boat is returned and vacated to our mooring on time.  Any breakages and/or damage to the boat and we will recover all reasonable costs from this bond in the first instance.  We do not charge for the odd broken plate or glass etc. 

Late Arrival

Please let us know if you are held up and will be late collecting the boat. We will have Dollymixture ready for the induction for 2pm.

What Is Included 

We provide; Diesel & Gas, Crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots/pans, cleaning materials, tea/coffee/sugar, salt/pepper, towels/bedding, extra rugs/covers.
