We had a fantastic time on Dollymixture. Although absolute beginners we were quickly on our way south from the Waterbabies mooring. Chris showed us everything we needed to know and that gave us the confidence to get going, learning to handle the boat better as we went. The boat has everything you need from full gas cooker and oven to wifi. Despite the heat wave during our trip the boat stayed quite cool with air flowing through. We had no issues sleeping. A wonderful experience overall, would do it again.

We had such a fantastic weekend on Dolly Mixture and loved every minute of it! The kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent, making the boat really comfortable and easy to stay on. Chris was so welcoming, showed us everything we needed to know, then trusted us to use our own initiative, which we really appreciated. This is our second time in Dolly Mixture and shared a week on board with our two dogs. Having our car safely locked at mooring was a great feature. The boat is well kitted out, especially the full size shower room. It provides comfortable accommodation within the confines of an easy to manage length of craft. It is clear that Chris and Karen want their guests to have a worry free holiday and handled all aspects of the booking, hand over and return with excellent customer service and a dose of good humour. We had a lovely long weekend on a moored Dolly Mixtures. Every aspect was superb. Nothing lacking and very well appointed. Once we had put our belongings in we had a visit to nearby Lancaster before a tasty pub meal heading back to a cosy stay. Next day lovely walk south to Garstang Marina’s cafe via the towpath. Monday a longer walk north to the spur branch. Birdsong aplenty. The local swan begged at the window each morning. Magical.

Well what can I say, it was the best holiday we have had for years. Great customer service and so friendly. We travelled up and down the canal and found our favourite spots I highly recommend bridge 90 if you like it rural and quiet. Highly recommend using "water babies". We had previously hired from 'big' hire companies but Chris & Karen made it all feel a lot more personal and nothing was too much a problem for them. Excellent communication all along. Lancaster canal is very scenic and compared to some other canals, nice and quiet. Dolly Mixture is a fine example of a narrowboat, with good easy steering and quiet engine and the internal layout is brilliant. Everything you need for a canal holiday!! We will be back onboard again soon.....

What an absolute pleasure from start to finish with Karen and Chris from Water Babies. This was our first time barging and Karen and Chris both went out of their way to make sure we felt confident to set sail on our own. Communication was first class and clear instruction from Chris on the first day ensured we had a fun filled few days. Dolly Mixture has absolutely everything you could need and the Lancaster canal is an easy first trip. Many lovely places to moor and lots of wildlife. We took our dog along with us which added to the fun; she loved it as much as we did. We will definitely be back and would recommend Water Babies to anyone wanting to try barging or those who are more experienced wanting a lovely few days.

Had a lovely week on Dolly Mixture although the weather could have been a little better, (It was the end of March) It still didn't spoil our enjoyment of the holiday, The great thing was we could go back to the mooring and use our car to go into Blackpool Morecambe and Kendal when the weather wasn't ideal for the canal, we would recommend this holiday to anybody with the added bonus of Chris and Karen who are a lovely helpful couple and there lovely boat which was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed,

Spent a week over Christmas on Dolly mixtures. The boat was well presented when we collected her - even down to a Christmas tree, glow cubes and a few nice (edible and drinkable) extras. We had a really relaxing time, and seeing Lancaster castle with no tourists on Boxing Day was lovely. Local shop at Galgate is excellent, everything you could want. Would we go again? Yes!

We had a great few days on Dolly Mixture. First time canal boaters. Chris showed us how to drive and operate all the onboard equipment. Very soon we were under way. Heading north we got to Carnforth and back in 4 days. The boat was easy to manoeuvre and great fun to drive. We saw lots of wild life including Kingfishers. We also stopped at a few canal side pubs. The book that we were given made navigation easy and showed where to moor, shop and explore. The boat was comfortable and clean. Thanks to everyone at Water babies
